Prototyping

DEW has a dedicated, 15,000 sq ft prototyping shop with dedicated welding capability, lift capability, tool crib, and parts warehouse.

The Prototype Shop is staffed with experienced technologists and technicians who have complete access to the Program Managers and engineers involved with its prototype activity.

The Prototype Shop also creates Risk Reduction Units for re-roled vehicles, and all types of SEVs. It is also used to complete production runs of vehicle re-role programs and SEVs.

As part of our Systems Engineering group, technical authors and trainers participate during prototyping activities to document or validate publications and training documentation.
