Radial Drive DewbridgeTM
The Radial Drive DewbridgeTM is a bridge often selected for ground-level terminals and for servicing regional jets, turboprops and narrow-body aircraft.
The Radial Drive DewbridgeTM was the first passenger boarding bridge in the market specifically designed for turboprop and regional aircraft. The Radial Dewbridge offers the flexibility of installation from ground level up to second level terminal concourses. It is particularly suited to single story regional terminals or dedicated regional aircraft concourses at large airports.
The Radial Drive DewbridgeTM was developed with a rotunda system designed to be installed on existing apron ramps without the need and expense of excavating and pouring a new foundation.
A service door provides quick and easy access to the bridge and aircraft. A roof access ladder and catwalk are usually included to facilitate servicing.
A control panel mounted on the right-hand side of the cab of the bridge is used for controlling all bridge functions. All controls are highly intuitive, making the bridge easy to operate with minimal training. Large, well positioned windows provide a clear view of the apron at all times. The horizontal drive is electrically driven with a two-speed capability to provide smooth starts and stops.
The cab offers rotational and telescopic travel to permit precise, safe positioning against the aircraft during docking. A full suite of sensors prevents damage to the aircraft during operation.
The canopy provides a flexible weatherproof closure between the aircraft and the bridge. An auto-leveling unit ensures the bridge stays level with the aircraft doorsill as the aircraft is loaded/unloaded.
The overall dimensions of the Radial Drive DewbridgeTM are customized to suit customer and site requirements. Its slope depends on rotunda floor height, apron slope, length of the bridge and doorsill height of the aircraft. Dewbridge carefully designs the bridge to meet the ADA slope requirement of 1:12.
